The Warrior Bride
by Ann Ault
February, 1992

The Warrior Bride is ready, poised to receive orders from her Bridegroom King...
daring to believe that she was finally ready, she learned her lessons well,
her training has not been in vain, and though she often fell,
she took Him at His word when He said she would rise again.
He patiently would raise her up in spite of all her sin ...
He put her on her feet and said, "Let's try it just once more."

And finally on eagle's wings she'd rise and then she'd soar ... above besetting sins that seemed
to tie her to the earth ... she stood fast in the liberty that was like a second birth.  One-by-one
they fell from her, just like a second skin ... she shed those clinging bondages that had her
trapped within.

The enemies within her would keep her from her groom in the kingdom deep within her
she was locked up in a room filled with fear and darkness over sins no one could see,
she felt so isolated and she never could run free, because of all the shame and the failure in her
life, she was locked in her little room of self-loathing and of strife.

The enemies would whisper how unworthy she must be ... just look at all the secret sin,
her inability to get out of this dungeon that imprisoned her forever.
She couldn't breathe the pure clean air and never could she sever,
the chains that bound her hand and foot so she could not go free.
She waited in eternal gloom without expectancy,
that anything could liberate her from this pit of hell.

The enemies would taunt her ... first she staggard, then she fell,
collapsing from a burden that she could no longer bear.
Before the life was crushed from her, a tiny silent prayer, made its way to heaven and the throne
room of the King.  And the valiant warriors were dispatched and told they were to bring
the Warrior Bride to His strong tower and there she would be safe.

And there she met her Bridegroom King ... and there she found her faith,
that she had thought perhaps she'd lost in battles through the years.
Her Bridegroom King raised her up and wiped away her tears ...
"I know you're weary from the battle of the flesh within, but you've fought hard,
you've overcome the devil and the sin, that would so easily beset you.
You overcame, My bride, and I will never leave you; I am always at your side.
The battle's nearly over, but there is much to do ...
I trust you with the task at hand, and I will see you through.

One day when the war is done, we'll have our wedding day ... and when I hold you close to me,
I know I'll hear you say ... 'Oh, it was worth it all, my King, my Bridegroom and my Love.
And now I want to live here in Your kingdom high above
all the pain and darkness of this eartly life below.
It fades before my Bridegroom King ... my Lord, I love you so!"

Hi Mark,
It was great talking with you today!  I'm so glad you were obedient in following the Lord's direction - what a powerful and encouraging story.  I hope the attached lyrics are encouraging.  I've put the pro-life tape in the mail.  This and a buck might get you a cup of coffee...but Harry Chapin (of "Cat's in the Cradle" fame) told myself and Billy Joel to pursue music.  Obvioiusly, I went a different direction than Billy.  God Bless, David
Who’ll Take a Stand

What can I do to help you understand?

It’s gonna take more than a prayer.

It’s gonna take people who’ll take a stand

And do so much more than just care.

People who’ll stand up for what they believe,

Living their lives by the Word.

Willing to confront their culture and fears

Proclaiming Truth ‘till it’s heard.

(Chorus)

Who’ll take a stand and be counted with Christ?

Who’ll stand with Him before men?

Who’s going to counter the enemies’ lies?

Where are the godly men?

Who’ll take a stand for Him?

What can I say to convey such a need?

Society dies more each day.

Though we have the answer, we keep it within.

Why don’t we share Christ today?

As people willing to stand up and state

What we believe unashamed.

Willing to enter in public debate

Wisdom we’ve gained in Christ’s name.

(Repeat Chorus)

What if it takes more than saying a prayer?

Pray by all means, but what then?

What if the Father in answering our prayers,

Tells us, “You are my answer.”  What then?

(Repeat Chorus)
